Telegraph messenger, 1857, Dalton, GA, then Atlanta, 1859.

Born October 31, 1844, Bradley County, TN, to Joseph C. Henderson, a dealer in harness and saddlery, who moved to Dalton in 1854; mother unknown.

Died November 7, 1894, Smithville, GA.

Married Fanny Ross of Lake City, FL; two sons, Tally M. Henderson and Edward R. Henderson, Jr.

Had gone south to Calhoun the morning of the Raid checking on downed lines. Fuller picked him up at Calhoun, then dropped him at Dalton to send telegram to Gen. Ledbetter, Confederate commander at Chattanooga, TN.
