Legion of ValorThe Legion of Valor is an association of those whose valor has been recognized by the award of the nation's two highest decoration: the Medal of Honor of the Army, Navy, or Air Force; and the Army Distinguished Service Cross, Navy Cross, or Air Force Cross. Organized on April 23, 1890, the association is the nation's service veterans organization. It was chartered by public law 224, an Act of Congress, and approved by the President on August 4, 1955. Its national museum is located in the Fresno Veterans Memorial Auditorium at 2425 Fresno Street, Fresno, California. The principals of the Legion of Valor are: Patriotic allegiance to the United States of America, fidelity to its constitution and laws, the security of civil liberty and the perpetuation of free institutions. |
National Medal of Honor Museum of Military HistoryThe museum was established in 1990 and is dedicated to preserving the history of events and heroes of every uniformed service from the Revolutionary War to the present. It is located at 400 Georgia Avenue, Chattanooga, Tennessee. |
