Enrolled Private Co. B 33rd Ohio Infantry Regiment, August 18, 1861, Camp Morrison. Mustered August 27, 1861, three years. Promoted Corporal, August 27, 1861. Volunteered Andrews Raid, April 7, 1862. Discharged July 12, 1863, Cowan, TN to accept commission as 2nd Lieutenant, July 13, 1863. Discharged July 25, 1865.

Captured near Ringgold, GA, April 12, 1862; paroled via City Point, VA, March 17, 1863.

Saw action in Andrews Raid.

Awarded Medal of Honor, March 25, 1863.

Pension $24 per month, No. 336,034.
